Taste the goodness of fine traditions
In the past, it was a beautiful gesture to watch women welcome guests into their homes. Gracefully pouring out the goodness of the land from their pots, which contained anything from water, drinks to food. Their African pots, a symbol of their labor, strength, and kindness, were the means by which many travelers and visitors were nourished and revitalized by the goodness of the land.

Ours is traditions of old redefined for today
Many years down the line, life has changed, and so has the world around us, but the Ghanaian Akwaaba experience is still unrivaled. We still believe and uphold the “fine traditions” of sharing the goodness of the land with the rest of the world. So whether you’re looking for a bold adventure into unexplored territory or a nostalgic trip through your memories; we are here for you. Join us on a flavor journey through time and taste to find the perfect snack to satisfy you.

Our CEO

Meet Mildred
Mildred Akotia is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Akwaaba Fine Foods. She is a food enthusiast and passionate about home-grown foods. Growing up, Mildred watched her mum and other mums use simple, natural ingredients for nourishment and medicine for their families and guests. Her childhood experience of strong family bonds through outdoor cooking, access to fresh ingredients from backyard gardens, sharing food and eating together are some of the priced memories that have shaped her values and her outlook of family and food. With previous ambitions to read Medicine, Mildred was unable to make it to Med school. Nonetheless, as fate would have it, she discovered Food as her new and forever love. She’s inspired by Nature and Tradition. Mildred has a 1st degree in BSc Biochemistry from the University of Ghana and an MSc in Food Production Management from The University of Nottingham, UK. She believes African food is not well represented on the international food shelves as much as some well- known Ethnic foods. Her dream is to see her innovative, world-class packaged Ghanaian food and snacks standing tall with their international counterparts on the Western food shelves. Mildred is married to her friend of 8years, Aseye Akotia and married for life with 3 amazing and purpose-driven children, Jarren, Jody and Charice.
